This site is dedicated to customising your B&D Workmate to do a multitude of jobs that you probably hadn't even imagined possible whilst keeping the small footprint that it's famous for. It also details pictures and plans of some of the various items I've made with it.
Check out these cool pictures to see what's possible - more to come soon. You can click on some of them to get the plans.
Using standard workmate fixings, you can make your workmate into a bespoke router table with an inverted router, fence, feathers, etc.
As an add on, fashion a router table lift from a car jack and wheel.
For safety, a mains cutout switch is a good idea. This one switches two of the three sockets (machine and vacuum) as the other is for the light and is always on.
Turn your drill press into a bench grinder as well.
If you're short of space, make your jigsaw multi-purpose by mounting it upside-down under your workmate negating the need for a separate bandsaw.
DIY 3-D Scanner - you attach a camera to the "pole" and then rotate the object on the turntable.
Acute Angle Jig - adds 45℃ angle to allow cutting of angles greater than this on a mitre saw.
Isolation stands for your hi-fi equipment - granite chopping board, squash balls, spikes and an oak frame.
